My first images of Bettie Page were at an uncle's home in Philadelphia,
where his collection of pulp magazines like Wink, Whisper and Flirt was conveniently kept under the TV stand. It
was love at first sight. Bettie would pose seductively for various still photos, always featuring her in Cuban
heeled stockings and very high heels. Now, thanks to eBay, you can find these classic girly mags and enjoy a time when
a garter belt and black stockings paired with incredibly high heels was risque and appealing.

My Love of Shoes -- I became aware of the beauty, the power and the sexual
statement that women's shoes could make at a fairly early age. The late 1950's into the 1960's were a time when women's
shoes were stylish, colorful, set on pencil thin heels with metal taps that would "click-clack" on the linoleum floors
of my school. Looking back at the old mail order catalogs from that period is torture to me. So many beautiful
shoes. So many different colors and materials. So many different styles. Back then, I would have
had to hold down two jobs just to afford my insatiable appetite for shoes. Or maybe I could have been a camera
club model like Bettie Page. One evening of modeling could have paid for 3 or 4 pairs of shoes!
I just love Carrie Bradshaw of "Sex in the City"...OMG, did she have great shoes!
The 1950's through the 1960's was a
time when women still wore seamed stockings with cuban heels, some of which were outlined in patterns or contrasting colors
(that only the more "brazen" would dare to wear). Seamless stockings were a girl's first stocking and manufacturers
like Hanes exclusively promoted them to women, for their convenience (no seams to keep straight) and their bare leg look.
Boys always were fascinated by the engineering marvel of a women's stocking attached to a lacy garter belt or a tight
girdle. A peek of garter and stocking top during class was a real treat, especially if you were lucky enough
to see it on an attractive teacher! I wish to salute Miss Lois Chadwick, my 6th grade student teacher, as well as my
7th grade English teacher and my 8th grade study hall teacher (names long since forgotten) for all that they "contributed"
to my growing interest in the feminine mystique of stockings and stiletto high heels.

The Ankle Bracelet: Just A Glamourous Accessory?
I remember when ankle bracelets would go in and out of fashion and at
times they were hard to find at even better jewelry stores. Today, it seems that it is a standard jewelry accessory
for many women. Here are a few of my personal observations about the do's and don'ts of ankle bracletes.
First, get one that fits and doesn't look like it is cutting off your circulation. It should rest at your ankle or just a
little above it. If you have big ankles, go to a place that sells gold chains by the inch and select a size so
that it is custom fitted to your ankle. I prefer a 10" length which actually rests just at my ankle.
Secondly, plan to have several in different chain types or styles to go with different occasions and your fashion style.
One is for more formal affairs that is so delicate it is almost invisible. Gold or Silver? Most of mine
are gold but there are a few in silver, again depending upon the occasion. Note that the glitzy rhinestone anklets
are stunning but will catch and rip your nylon hosiery if you cross your ankles. Over or Under? Wearing
your anklet over your stocking is much more common. If you are wearing one under your stocking, be sure it is of good
quality and won't catch and run your hose. Again, a more formal occasion may be a reason to have it slightly hidden
from view to all but the expert legmen out there. Should you wear one or several? I personally choose to wear
just one as I like to show off the design of the anklet. If you are going bareleg, I think several do look good, but
on one side only!
Right or Left side? I forget what the Hawaiian tradition is for
the girls who wear the flower behind their ear. Is the left side saying that she's not single? My personal experience
does verify the old wive's (or is it old queen's) tale: "Left is right and right is wrong!" Does wearing it on
your right side send out the message "I'm available"? An interesting bit of trivia regarding this subject is the famous
Betty Grable pin-up of World War 2. Betty is wearing her ankle bracelet on her right ankle! For years I wore my
ankle bracelet on my left ankle and nothing happened. In the last year, I have worn it on my right ankle and more men
buy me drinks, make passes at me and...need I say more!

am having a difficult time hooking the front of my corset as well as lacing the back all by myself. Also, in Dear Diary I hear about something called a “Waspie.”
Would you tell me what that is, please!” signed Breathless.
For asking so nicely Miss Breathless, I will be glad to share some of my tightlacing secrets
with you. The front of a true corset has a metal device called the busk that
hooks the two sides together. Simply attach the
second from the top hook first and then swing the bottom sides of the corset together in a simple and easy motion, then
connect the top hook last! Try it
and you’ll see how easy it is. A “Waspie” is a shorter corset,
about 10” high, designed primary for creating the ultra narrow wasp-waisted and flared hips that was so popular in the
Victorian era years ago and in the 1950’s and 60’s. It is not sold
by Victoria’s
Secret or Fredericks of Hollywood but by classic corsettiers like Vollers and Axfords in England. Due to its shorter length,
it is also easier for one person to pull the lacing as tight as one would like. And
it is more comfortable to wear when driving in your car. Do not attempt to eat
anything substantial like a full dinner while corseted for obvious reasons. -- Aunt Tranny

Corsetry holds a special attraction for me. As a fashion
accessory, my corsets help me create a girlish figure and accentuates my waist and hips without the need for padding.
My posture is improved and there is a wonderful, sensuous feeling when a man places his hand on my waist.
As a fetish icon, corseted women convey a message to me that says that they feel sexy, proud, desireable and seductive.
Corsetry is making a comeback with many true
corsets available via the internet. Two of my favorite for quality and beauty are from England, Axfords and Vollers. I
have nine in my collection, plus others in smaller sizes for playtime with GG friends!

or How To Get Dressed in Just Under Six Hours has a whole chapter devoted to high heels. Here are three proven
helpful tips on "how to put them to work:"
Cross Action: When
you're seated across the room from a man you want to attract, continually cross and uncross your legs. Do it slowly,
sensously, so that he can imagine the silkiness of your stockings as one leg glides languorously over the other.
Devilish Dangling: As you sit with legs crossed high, allow one shoe to slip off somewhat, exposing the tender underside of your
foot. Move your leg so that the shoes swings as it dangles from your toe. Practice this move at home until you've
mistressed it--you don't want the shoe to plop loudly on the floor and break the spell.
Seductive Adjustment: While seated, lean down as if to adjust
the base of your shoe, the vamp, or ankle strap. Let your fingers linger on your feet but keep your eyes on the man
who has captured your attention for the moment. This is a position guaranteed to make his heart pound. Between
the sight of your cleavage, your legs, your hand, and your high heels, he will be in heaven.

There was an adult bookstore next to the Greyhound Bus Station
where I would catch the ride back to my college after a weekend at home. Imagine my shock and disbelief that fateful
day when, as an underage freshman, I saw this magazine on the rack next to all the racy girly mags. I immediately feel
in love with the whole notion that I could one day look as beautiful and as sexy as cover girl Holly White.
But back in the 1960's, dressing as a woman was illegal and almost all of the performers were identified as gay drag queens.
In hindsight, many were probably transexuals not only trapped in a man's body but trapped in a society that stigmatized and
persecuted them.

Black Reinforced Heel and Toe Stockings
Sexy, sheer, sleek, shiny, slippery, seductive, scandalous...the
black nylon stocking has held a special place in the world of glamour and pin-up photography. The black
nylon stocking was the first and almost exclusive choice of photographer Elmer Batters for his models.
And while he selected both the full-fashioned cuban heel style and the reinforced heel and toe for his photo shoots,
it was the reinforced heel type stocking that portrayed a "playfulness" in his models, a classic tease appeal of the not so
"girl next door".

"Gentlemen Prefer Hanes" was the classic marketing tag-line used by this famous seamless
stocking manufacturer who almost singlehandedly changed women's preferences from seamed stockings to seamless. Their
color selections were very fashionable and my collection includes two of my favorite colors, Topaz and Driftwood. Topaz
is a hard-to-find bronze tint that makes the leg almost glisten. Driftwood is a lovely taupe color that tints your legs
with a subtle hue of greyish brown. Matched with a little black dress and black suede pumps, Driftwood is my color of
choice to attract the attention of a dedicated leg man.

Dear Diary: Tales of Dangling and Teasing While Out on the Town
NOTE TO DIARY: Here is some advice for "new girls" going out for the first time. Some
of you leave your ID in the car when dressed (we have all done this ourselves in our early outings) but you
should carry your REAL ID with you when out, and include your ATM card as well. You just never know when
you'll need them. Sh_t happens, even in high heels!
An Open Letter To Local T-Girls Who
Are Thinking About Joining Transpitt. November 10, 2006
While conducting some Transpitt business today with our
President, Donna, she informed me that one of the new girls had mentioned coming to my website, how much my appearance impressed
her but being left with the feeling that she wasn’t pretty enough to be a member of Transpitt. While I am flattered by the compliment, I do want to say that I had the same exact feeling on
my first time I went to a Transpitt meeting. I worried that I was going to walk
into a room full of beautiful drag queens and gorgeous female impersonators, just like those in the tranny magazines. Well, nothing could be further from the truth.
Most all of us started expressing our femme persona without any practical experience in hair styling, fashion sense
and style, makeup and that all important secret factor, beard cover. Being a
member of a real-time, in-person group like Transpitt gives me the opportunity to observe others, exchange tips and ideas,
get good first-hand advice and improve our outer-image and inner self-image at the same time.
The learning process is continuous. It was just about a year ago that I discovered by accident, a new shade of
stage makeup/beard cover and the right foundation that finally gave me the results that I had been seeking for 12 long years,
reducing the red or flushed tint to my face with something more pink and natural. I
also have a confession to make: when out with the girls, I have a lot of photos taken of me, but many do not end up on
the website because they make me look like a man wearing women’s clothes (imagine that!). The photos that do end up here have had the benefit of a little adjusting of the exposure to bring out
the best appearance as possible. And these photos have had the benefit of
a lot of the experience of others that I have met here in Pittsburgh
